Visiting for the spring snow?

24 September 2020

UPDATED 24 September 2020:

WELCOME BACK regional Victorians!
If you'd love a snow fix these school holidays come on up! Access to the mountain is OPEN and FREE.

The ski season might be over (sorry, no more chairlifts) but a nice dollop of Spring snow is forecast and there are already beautiful frosty vibes in the resort ready to welcome school holiday snow lovers! So here's all you need to know before you head on up...

GETTING HERE

The road to the village is open.  There may be snow on the road so please drive carefully, carry wheel chains and be ready to fit them if conditions require.  Need some snow safety and driving tips? Click here

Resort entry is FREE, however you will need to check in at the resort entry gate at Mirimbah for contact tracing, temperature testing and providing proof that you are from regional Victoria.

WHAT'S OPEN ?

  1. Snowplay is GO while conditions allow.  There is a nice dusting on the ground and LOTS MORE expected by  the weekend!
  2. Check the live cams for the latest live images and see conditions for yourself
  3. Toboggans are available in the village for rent and check signs in resort for safe places to slide on Bourke Street zone or in the Snow Play Parks.
  4. YES - you can get a coffee (and a hot homemade pie, toasted sandwich and more) with Coffee Garage/The Whitt (03 5777 6024) and The Villager both open.  If you have a group or really, really want to lock in some lunch book it in ahead.
The Grocer is open too with a big range of snacks, deli/picnic items and some warm goodies in the pie oven too.
  5. Dress warmly (and a change of clothes is a good idea for snowplaying kids!) and explore the village with beautiful views at every turn
  6. Need a map or some friendly advice?  Call in to Alpine Central (on your right as you arrive in the village next to the Snow Play Park) and the team are happy to help with directions and local knowledge. (Phone: 03 5777 7200)
  7. Hunt for gnomes and follow the Sculpture Walk.  If you post a letter to the gnomes at the Gnome Tree on the drive up they will even write back!
  8. Please wear your mask and stick to the COVID safety steps just like we are all doing every day. Keep your spacing, wash those hands, stay home if you are unwell.  If you need a reminder on the rules click here.
  9. HAVE FUN!
