Transport

Vehicle access to the Mt Buller Village is restricted during snow season. 

There are a few transfer options between the car parks and the village. Your choice of transfer will depend on whether you are visiting for the day or staying overnight. The car parks are 1-4kms below the village so read on to choose the right transfer option for you.

 Toboggans are not permitted into Mt Buller Village and cannot be carried on any resort transport.

Free Car Park Shuttle

Once you have paid resort entry and parked your car , these large buses ferry passengers between the car parks and the Village – usually < 15 minutes each way. 

This free shuttle operates continuously between 8am and 6pm daily for passengers without luggage (a day pack plus skis/snowboard is permitted).

On Saturdays and Wednesdays between 2 July and 27 August, shuttles will run until 9pm for Twilight Sessions

The Village Express Service

Skip the icy mountain drive and chain hassle. 

Our Village Express shuttle offers a convenient journey straight into the Mt Buller Village from the bottom of Mount Buller Road.

You’ll find Mt Buller Village is pedestrian friendly with most venues a short and scenic walk, however if you need a ride we’ve got you covered. 

Free Intra-Village Shuttles

The free Intra-Village shuttle buses operate daily between 8am and 6pm.  An evening service running until 10pm is offered on Friday and Saturday nights all season, and Wednesdays in July and August when night skiing is held.  See the loops on the Village map for your closest stop. Download the Mt Buller Transportation app and you can track the shuttles in real time.

Three bus routes cover all corners of the Village.  Ask your driver for help to get to your destination:

Ski School loop: The red bus route heads from the Village Square, past Breathtaker All Suite Hotel and Pension Grimus, to the Bourke Street Express Chairlift where you’ll see the Ski & Snowboard School.

Summit Road loop: The blue bus route starts in the Village Square, past Alpine Central, Mt Buller Chalet, ABOM Hotel and turns around at the Arlberg Hotel. This route passes the Medical Centre and Ski Patrol.

Stirling Road loop: The yellow bus route covers much of the residential Eastern side of the Village, including the Duck Inn, Alpine Retreat, Ajax and Ski Lib. It passes Lydia’s Chairlift and the Jacqui Cooper jump site where the Olympic Freestyle Team trains.

Ride Share Transfers

Operating between 7am and midnight daily, this service provides transport for you and your bags between overnight car parks and village accommodation (approximately a 2-4km journey). Prices are per passenger with a maximum of 10 passengers per vehicle. Multiple, unrelated groups are likely to be carried within each vehicle. Ride Share transfer drivers work closely with the parking staff - look for the Ride Share Transfer vans pulling up as you park. Passengers are permitted up to 2 large bags, 1 ski/snowboard bag or set of skis or snowboard, 1 set of ski or snowboard boots 1 carry-on small item such as a day pack or handbag. Excess luggage is charged at $10 per piece.

Please note: children older than 12 months must have a seat reserved to ensure vehicle capacity limits are not breached. 

 To avoid disappointment and delays please secure your booking well in advance.

For a smooth departure, download the Mt Buller Transportation app and book your return journey to your car at least 24 hours before your departure. 

Transfers outside standard operating hours (7am-midnight) incur a $100 premium and must be booked in advance during standard operating hours via the Transportation App or calling 0498 287 308.

Private Transfers

A limited number of private transfer companies are permitted to provide services and set their own fares and operating hours. Private Transfer operators are like a traditional taxi or Uber with one booking per vehicle only. Guests seeking this personalised service can make a booking by contacting these companies directly.

When using a private transfer service to travel direct to your accommodation from outside the resort, entry fees of $22.70 per adult and $16.30 are payable and are usually incorporated into the fare charged by the service provider.  Please check with the provider below.
