Just three hours' drive from Melbourne, Mt Buller is close enough for a day’s escape yet far enough away for a holiday. Mt Buller has everything you need for the perfect winter snow experience.
ABOUT MT BULLER
Since 1924 when a small group from the Ski Club of Victoria first skied at Mt Buller the mountain has welcomed visitors to the slopes to experience fun, sport, adventure and community.
With over 300 hectares of skiable terrain, there is a generous mix of green, blue and black runs for skiers and snowboarders at all levels. Countless Australians have made their first turns on the gentle terrain of Bourke St and Burnt Hut Spur with 80% of the ski area offering intermediate, advanced and some expert level steeps with unlimited opportunities for winter adventure.
With 19 lifts, Mt Buller offers the largest lift network in Victoria, including thirteen chairlifts (three of which are high speed detachables) two T-bars, two rope tows (counted as one) and magic carpets. The resort has Terrain Parks designed for all skill levels, with a dedicated snow grooming team to maintain their condition.
Mt Buller has two toboggan parks, complete with their own snowmaking machines easily accessible at Celia's and in the Village. Toboggans are provided and no experience is necessary!
The Mt Buller Village is situated picturesquely at the heart of the mountain, offering ski in, ski out accommodation, retail stores including a grocer, convenient free shuttles around the village and plenty of bars and restaurants.
Mt Buller is home to Breathtaker on High Alpine Spa Retreat, Australia’s highest day spa and plenty of experiences to round out the perfect winter holiday including a movie cinema, indoor climbing wall, AirZone trampoline experience, National Alpine Museum, gallery and regular free village entertainment.
Mt Buller is committed to maintaining and protecting the unique alpine environment for future generations and has numerous environmental programs in place to reduce waste, minimise energy and water use, protect habitat and endangered species.
CULTURAL HERITAGE
Resort Management partners with Taungurung people to actively manage the natural and cultural values of the Mt Buller and Mt Stirling Alpine Resorts.
Taungurung Clans - First people of the rivers and mountains
Mt Buller is located on Taungurung country. Ethnographic sources suggest that this group was composed of nine clans, occupying the Broken, Delatite, Goulburn, Coliban and Campaspe watersheds. The lands around Mount Buller and Mount Stirling appear to have been occupied by the Yowung-illam balug clan of the Taungurung.
