Ski Club of Victoria - Experienced Chefs - All Levels

The Ski Club Victoria, passionately known as ‘The Whitt’ are looking for experienced and passionate Chef De Partie, Commis Chefs, Demi Chefs and Cooks to join our dynamic and diverse team for the upcoming winter season.

When the snow falls ‘The Whitt’ is buzzing and the place to be on the mountain. We are 7 days a week operation, with a busy 100-seater restaurant and bar, café, and function venue.

Open for lunch and dinner we serve classic brasserie style cuisine, with a modern Australian touch and an emphasis on fresh local produce. and a fun and positive working environment.

Our small, but busy café is a Mt Buller hot spot located next to the Bourke Street ski run. We are known for our house roasted coffee, quick bites, pastries, and cakes, while hitting the slopes.

The ideal candidate will have an eye for detail and a passion for cooking, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure.

Duties & Responsibilities

Support and work with Executive Chef to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen

Ensure highest level of customer satisfaction and service is provided and maintained

Produce high quality and consistent food menu items

Share ideas, opinions, and suggestions to improve menus and kitchen environment

Maintain and contribute to a positive and safe working environment

Understanding of regulations concerning, health, safety, and other compliance requirement

Assist with ordering, stock control and receiving of goods

Skills & Qualifications

Experience in a similar role

Possess qualifications in commercial cookery and food safety certificate

Professional attitude and passion for the hospitality industry

Strong communication and time management skills
