URGENT AND EMERGENCY CARE

Mt Buller has a first class urgent and trauma care system. Our highly trained and specialised Ski Patrollers attend to injuries on the ski field and transport people to the Medical Centre, when needed.

The Mt Buller Medical Centre (operated by the Mansfield District Hospital) provides emergency care to mountain visitors and staff between the hours of 9:00AM to 17:00PM. The Medical Centre is staffed with emergency care specialist doctors, nurses and medical administration teams and is equipped with an X-ray machine.

You can reach the clinic on 03 5777 6912.   Outside these hours, a clinic nurse is available on call for emergencies only.

If ambulance transport is required, individuals are responsible for the cost of ambulance transport either through their AV or private health membership of full cost recovery or payment of invoice. It is highly recommended that you take out an Ambulance Victoria Membership before you visit Mt Buller.

EMERGENCY 000

Ambulance Victoria has a base on Mt Buller and provides 24 Hour emergency assistance. Ambulance Victoria is available for acute transfers to hospital, that is patients who require active treatment or specialty transfers. If you require hospital services, you will be transported to the closest health service that has the capability to meet your needs.

COVID-19

The Mt Buller Medical Centre does not provide a COVID-19 testing service. Visitors who develop COVID-19 symptoms should immediately self-isolate and take a rapid antigen test (RAT).

NON-EMERGENCY MEDICAL CARE

If you require GP services whilst on the mountain, you are encouraged to contact your local GP for a telehealth consultation. Your GP is in the best position to provide access to personalised non-urgent care. If your local GP is not providing telehealth consultations you can call GP2U, Australia’s largest telehealth provider, to book a tele/video GP consultation.

Bookings can be made on-line 7-days a week from 7:00AM to 19:00PM at: gp2u.com.au
GP2U can refer patients to the Mt Buller Medical Centre if a face-to-face consultation is required.

For non-emergencies, free 24-hour clinical advice is also available over the phone by calling 1300 606 024 Nurse On Call.

PRESCRIPTIONS

Mt Buller Medical Centre is not a pharmacy. There is a local supermarket that stocks a small range of medical supplies.
