2025 SNOW SQUAD PROGRAM DETAILS

• 30 days of coaching

Mt Buller's Snow Squad seasonal programs offer a full winter of on-snow fun, learning, and development for young athletes as well as children and teens wishing to progress their intermediate skills to the next level.

Snow Squad is designed to be an “all mountain” program, emphasising overall skills and refining technique so that participants can safely ski or ride anywhere, anytime, with confidence and expertise. Snow Squads are the first step in the development pathway for young athletes wishing to compete and/or specialise in a particular discipline down the track.

These programs offer outstanding value and enable children to ski or snowboard with the same group for the season. This allows them to develop a rapport with their instructors and other children, and makes learning a tonne of fun!

There are four programs on offer – Snow Squad Mini, Snow Squad X, Snow Squad Rider and Snow Squad Evolution. Details around each option are provided below.

UNIFORM

A Snow Squad Jacket is required to participate in the program. In order to provide better value and reduce the environmental impact, the Snow Squad program jackets will carry over from the 2024 winter season.  The Snow Squad Jacket from the 2024 program will be applicable for the 2025 program (colour of the jacket is the pictured above).  You may purchase a jacket when you proceed through our check out when buying online. A limited number of new jackets are available and ordered in advance in October 2024.

SNOW SQUAD PROGRAM BENEFITS

SNOW SQUAD MINI

DESIGNED FOR OUR YOUNGEST SKIERS 4 - 6 YEARS 

• Skiing only program
• Children must have reached a minimum of Green Possum (Level 3) to participate and can link snowplough turns on green runs and ride the chairlift
• Small groups sizes of a maximum of 6 per group
• Please note: Children must be at least 4 years of age
• Program Price without Snow Squad Jacket $5,060

SNOW SQUAD X

DESIGNED FOR SKIERS 7 - 12 YEARS 

• A specific all discipline skiing program
• Must be Blue Emu (Level 6) or above. Can ski parallel on blue runs and easier black runs
• Group sizes will generally be no larger than 10
• Program Price without Snow Squad Jacket $4,249
• Program Price with Snow Squad Jacket $4,644

SNOW SQUAD RIDER

DESIGNED FOR SNOWBOARDERS 7 – 12 YEARS

• Snowboarding program
• Must be Brown Cockie (Level 5) or above
• Group sizes will generally be no larger than 10
• Program Price without Snow Squad Jacket $4,249
• Program Price with Snow Squad Jacket $4,644

SNOW SQUAD EVOLUTION

DESIGNED FOR SKIERS 13 - 18 YEARS 

• A teenage skiing program developing skills in all types of snow conditions
• Freestyle, basic racing and all mountain skills training
• Same gender groups are available pending enrolment numbers
• Participants will explore mountain life including learning instructor and ski patrol skills
• Must have Black Kangaroos (Level 8) to participate. 
• Group sizes will generally be no larger than 10

SNOW SQUAD ENROLMENTS

Due to the popularity of our seasonal programs we need to place a cap on the number of enrolments. 

• 2024 Snow Squad families have a guaranteed place in the 2025 program until the 2nd of February 2025 with an exclusive sales period. Families are required to make payment prior to this date to confirm their children’s enrolment.
• NEW Snow Squad families and participants may purchase a seasonal program from 3rd February 2025 in the online store.
  Sales commence from 9:30am on Monday 3rd February 2025
• The Snow Squad Program will close sales on or before the 6th April 2025. Sales may close earlier if enrolments reach capacity when an expression of interest form will be implemented for those who have missed slots.

 To avoid disappointment, we highly recommend enrolling and making payment through our online store as soon as possible.

NOTES

Please note in some circumstances groups may be merged with a compatible group if numbers are insufficient to run independently.

Participation in Ski & Snowboard School lessons outside the seasonal program times listed requires the purchase of lessons. 10% discounts on regular group lessons are available to Mt Buller Season Members.

In operation since 1986, Team Buller Riders (TBR) is Mt Buller's only freestyle skiing club, specialising in the Olympic disciplines of moguls, slopestyle and aerial skiing.

TBR forms an essential part of the Australian Winter Sports Olympic Pathway, closely linked with Ski & Snowboard Australia (SSA) and the Olympic Winter Institute of Australia (OWIA). These relationships provide our athletes with access to some of the best program design, coaching and training facilities in the world.

Mt Buller Race Club offers seasonal race training programs for skiers and snowboarders, incorporating full and part-time programs.  

• 10 to 18 years
• Ski & Snowboard Specialist Race Training Program
• Trials for new members are held every year on the last Saturday morning of Victorian Interschools week at Mt Buller
