Take your sightseeing experience to the next level this snow season with a scenic sightseeing chairlift ride on the Northside Express. It takes 15 mins to ride each way, so plan for over 30 mins for a round trip, plus any time spent at the top. Check with resort staff or on the online shop for last ride timing.
Pick a date to visit - mid-week days are best to have more of the mountain to yourself! Skip the weekend bustle, and stroll, take photos, relax, soak in the views over a long lunch and let the kids build a snowman while you sip on a chai.
Pre-purchase everything before your visit including resort entry and sightseeing passes. Consider adding toboggan passes and renting snow clothes.
You'll be warm and dry and look like a local! Tobogganing is a fun way to slide on snow and available at two dedicated toboggan slopes with a pass that lasts all day.
Join the chairlift from the day car park. The Northside Express links the day car park directly to the slopes - it's called a 'sightseeing' ride for a reason. The view are amazing. Dress warmly with plenty of layers - you'll be on SNOW when you get to the top! If you're already in the village, the free carpark shuttle bus can be taken to the Horse Hill carpark to access the sightseeing lift.
Take hundreds of photos! You'll want to get selfies, video the ride up to the slopes and capture the thrill of the trip and the breathtaking views.
Warm up at the top in the Spurs Café with the best view on the mountain - be sure to throw some snowballs and get a photo of the summit. Sip a coffee or enjoy a delicious snack before you ride back down.
After your sightseeing ride you'll want to...
- jump on the FREE shuttle bus to the Mt Buller Village
- browse in the shops and stop for lunch in a café
- walk through the sculptures
- hunt for gnomes
- and so much more to make the most of your day on the mountain! For some more helpful advice read this First Time Visitors' Guide.
There really is more than you can fit into one day so why not book in and stay the night?
