Get ready for an extraordinary celestial experience at Star Fest!

The third annual Mt Buller Star Fest, organized by the Astronomical Society of Victoria (ASV) in collaboration with the Mornington Peninsula Astronomical Society, Arlberg House, and Mt Buller, is set to take place from January 3rd to 4th, 2024, at the stunning Arlberg House atop Mt Buller. This highly anticipated event brings together astronomy enthusiasts, photographers, and the general public for a weekend of stargazing and celestial exploration. With a mix of public viewing nights, educational talks, and unique astrophotography opportunities, the Star Fest promises to be an unforgettable experience in one of Victoria's most scenic alpine locations.

Take in the sunset and as the sky goes from golden to dark we'll peer into telescopes, learn from astronomers and get expert advice on how to take great nightscape photographs with various sessions available.   

Whether you're an avid photographer or simply curious about the mysteries of the universe, this event promises to be a feast for the senses. 

Mt Buller is spoiled with a dark sky that makes for great star viewing.  To make the most of the event it's recommended you book a stay in one of the many accommodation options on the mountain, bring warm layers and prepare yourself for a mystical and special evening exploring the wonders of the Milky Way and beyond.

SCHEDULE: 

Friday & Saturday

• 7:30pm Mt Buller Sunset Imaging - join the journey of photography discovery
• 9pm Public Viewing - The ASV will have volunteers on hand with telescopes set up for attendees to view through. You will see planets, nebula, star clusters and galaxies galore!
