Snow Surprise! Adventure and Chill at Mt Buller’s Weekend Events

Looks like winter couldn’t resist an early cameo before the snow season! Over the weekend, Mt Buller surprised us all by dusting off its snowy charm for two classic events – turning what was meant to be a late summer adventure into an alpine escapade filled with chills, thrills, and plenty of perseverance.

First up, the Mind Body Bike Women's Festival rolled into town with a mix of mountain bike skills, wellness workshops, and creative classes designed to recharge the mind, body, and soul. From gravity bike thrills to the zen of yoga and even silver jewelry making, there was something for every adventurous spirit. And just when the participants thought they’d be soaking up the summer sun, Mother Nature threw in a surprise snowfall, adding an extra layer of challenge to every ride and stretch. The hot and cold therapy sessions with Wild Sauna were especially welcome after a day navigating snowy trails – nothing like a sauna-ice bath combo to soothe those hard-working muscles!

Meanwhile, the Oscars Hut 2 Hut challenge put runners and trekkers to the ultimate test. With 100km, 10 climbs, and 8 iconic huts to conquer, this event is not for the faint-hearted. Add a dusting of snow and 5700 metres of elevation gain, and you have what some call the toughest 100km event in Australia. Those opting for the Archie 50km or the Bella 10km didn’t get off easy either – every participant earned their finish line moment. And all for a great cause too, with funds raised supporting early intervention programs for children with autism through Oscars100.

Whether pedaling through powder or trekking through snowy peaks, Mt Buller served up a weekend full of unexpected adventures and unforgettable moments.

P.S. Gentlemen, your turn is coming! The Men’s Mind Body Bike Weekend is set for 28 March. Ready to take on the challenge? Find out more clicking the button below.
