After a glorious sun-soaked Easter holiday the final golden weeks of the green season will slip by quickly – let’s savour time on the trails while we can!
The mountain biking season has been a stunner this summer and the autumn days keep on delivering. Riders are cramming in the laps until closing weekend (26-28 April) when the Blue Dirt Blowout is set to send the ride season off in style with a three-day festival.
The shuttles will roll late into the night on Friday 26 April with the Friday Night Neon Glow ride getting the weekend celebrations started. The Blow Out weekend is a must-attend if you enjoy mountain biking, parties, refreshing ales, winning up to $5,000 in prizes, discount shuttle passes and time on the trails for as long as you can before winter rolls around. Book your event tix and accommodation now!
Another great option if you are seeking an autumn adventure is to clip in and experience RockWire. This incredible new adventure experience is the first ‘via ferrata’ in Australia and we can explain how exciting, exhilarating and breathtaking it is – but really, you need to discover it for yourself. RockWire is a completely secure way to climb along the sheer cliffs on the western face of Mt Buller summit, 1,000 metres above the Delatite Valley all while secured to a continuous cable as you explore an aspect of the mountain you’ve never seen before. No climbing experience is needed, so if you love doing the walk to the summit and taking in the view, you’ll be blown away when the RockWire team share what awaits you ‘beyond the edge’.
James Webb and his team of guides have been leading thrilling climbs with guests since February and still have bookings available until late April – so book yours in quickly! Rockwire is closed for snow season and reopens in November 2024.
A few other autumn ideas to fit in your diary before winter arrives:
