In the 70 years of this iconic road cycling event there has not previously been two mountain-top finishes included in the program. The 2020 event is set to raise the bar with two alpine climbs in the mix, one at Mt Buller as part of the men's 5-day schedule.
Jayco Herald Sun Tour Race Director Scott McGrory explains, "It gives the riders who love going uphill a great opportunity… the climbs are obviously difficult, but the stages themselves are not overly difficult before they get there."
“It’s fantastic to have two of Victoria’s most iconic mountains in the same race,”
Victoria's North East region and iconic high-country locations will host the bulk of the tour which then heads down to Melbourne for a thrilling final stage ending in the Royal Botanic Gardens on Sunday 9 February, 2020.
The 2020 Jayco Herald Sun Tour is presented by the Herald Sun and supported by Visit Victoria, Jayco and this local stage is also proudly supported by Mt Buller.
