Nearly 70 years strong, the Jayco Herald Sun Tour is Australia’s oldest professional stage race drawing a stunning line up of elite riders and emerging stars with a lively crowd of spectators eager to soak up the energy this iconic cycling event brings with it.
Mt Buller is delighted to host a stage this year and seeing the pack race for the stage finish high up in the Mt Buller village will be a highlight. For the first time in the history of the Jayco Herald Sun Tour this year’s event will feature finishes on Mt Buller and also at Falls Creek bringing a welcome influx of visitors back to the High Country following a challenging summer season due to fires.
The Jayco Herald Sun Tour is one of Australia’s heritage sporting events, supported and revered by generations of Victorians. It is a major international race and generates significant economic impact and media exposure for the areas involved; Mt Buller is delighted to be on the program and welcomes this exciting opportunity for local cycling fans to see some of the world's best riders up close in our own beautiful backyard.
Come to see world-class riding and make a weekend of it!
If you fancy yourself in the saddle and think you can handle a pedal from Mansfield to Mt Buller why not take on the route with some mates and log it on Strava? There’s a free beer from Bright Brewery if you do! Find out more…
You’ll be starving after that so drop in for a hearty bistro meal at the ABOM and follow your nose for great coffee, snacks and treats around the village including Coffee Garage, Planks caravan and ABOM. Mirimbah Store is also open so stop in on the way up!
Buller Grocer is also open for everything you need from the weekend papers, sunscreen, snacks and ice-creams. PS: if you need a bag of frozen peas for any saddle soreness they have those too!
