Victoria’s premier downhill mountain bike race series is back this summer! Mt Buller hosts the first event in the eagerly anticipated series on 15-16 January 2022.
Gravity loving competitors are dusting off their bikes and gearing up to showcase their skills on Mt Buller’s freshly refurbished trails, which have had a stunning $1.25m make-over. Since the trails reopened in late 2021 the mountain bike community has been flocking to Mt Buller to explore the new riding experience – and the approval rating is high.
Australian Mountain Bike mag recently road-tested the updates and opined, “…the stoke was palpable on every rider who gleefully bound down the trails. Finally, Buller is starting to feel like a proper alpine mountain bike park worthy of hype.”
Registrations are open and coming in for the Victorian Downhill Series (VDHS) which is attracting a strong influx of riders enthusiastic to get back to competition after the pandemic-pause.
The Vic Downhill Series weekend offers something for all riders in a fun-focused and inclusive environment and will enthral spectators as the elite level riders push the limits on the thrilling course.
The Spurs Smokehouse will be open Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th 8am - 3pm for cafe and BBQ style meals.
Following the kick-off event on Mt Buller the series will hold rounds at Mt Beauty, Mt Baw Baw and will return to the region for a series conclusion in Mansfield on 26-27 March, 2022.
