Summer in the mountains is upon us, and to kick start the events’ calendar Mt Buller is once again gearing up to host the thrilling Targa High Country road race.
From 10-12 November, visitors will see over 200 participants tackle the multi-stage event around Mansfield, Euroa, Mt Buller, Eildon and the King Valley. The internationally renowned tarmac rally will kick off with a full day of racing on Friday 10 November, starting from Mt Buller and taking in the Merton, Harry’s Creek, Violet Town and Galls Gap stages. Participants will then travel out to Euroa before returning back to Mt Buller.
Saturday will see cars take off from Mt Buller and head north to Whitfield, then back for the Mansfield street stage in the afternoon. Targa Fest will follow the Mansfield street stage, with a static display of competition vehicles down the main street of town. On Sunday, the tour will head to Jamieson and Lake Eildon, including Australia's 2nd longest Tarmac Rally Stage, the new for 2017, 48km Jamieson Stage back for one final 18km run up Mt Buller for a champagne finish on top of the world!

Acclaimed as one of the biggest events on the summer calendar, the team from Targa High Country brings non-stop action and entertainment to the region across one big weekend, with a range of food and beverage venues available to both competitors and visitors.
Group Manager for Marketing, Sales and Events, Gillian Dobson said Mt Buller offers spectators and competitors an ideal base for Targa High Country. “With Targa High Country kicking off a full program of events and activities this summer, spectators and competitors can enjoy a brilliant weekend of entertainment here at Mt Buller. The resort has an advantage with the event starting and finishing in the heart of the Village. Spectators can then get up close and personal with race participants and their cars during the display after the race.”
