The Ski Club of Victoria has an exciting opportunity for a hospitality whiz to join our team for an immediate start in our busy little cafe for the remainder summer season. The right person will have the option to stay on for the 2025 winter Season.

Mount Buller come’s alive in summer with an array of walking trails, mountain biking, events, and other outdoor activities. Located in the heart of the high country, there are plenty of places to explore on your days off, including Lake Eildon and The King Valley. In winter you can enjoy the hustle and bustle of a busy ski resort and all it has to offer. 

Our busy little café is known for its amazing coffee, pastries, cakes, fresh bites, toasted sandwiches and wraps.

The ideal candidate will have previous barista, food handling and customer service experience, the ability to work independently, multitask and push on when the going gets tough.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Greet guests upon entering the cafe
• Take orders and assist guests with ordering to maximize sales opportunities through knowledge of menu items and suggestive selling
• Ensure food and beverage orders are entered into the POS system promptly and correctly
• Efficiently prepare coffee beverages and customer orders
• Ensure tables are cleared in a timely manner and service areas kept clean and tidy
• Adhere to and have a knowledge of food hygiene standards and requirements
• Close cheques and process payments through the POS system
• Provide guests with exceptional customer service and a dining experience they feel meets their expectations.
• Get to know our members and regular guests to ensure they feel welcome, comfortable and their requests and needs are met.

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of coffee equipment and coffee based beverages
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate (Victoria)

This is a casual seasonal position across a 5-day a week operation (Monday – Friday) throughout the summer season and a 7-day a week operation throughout the winter season.
