Lodge  Manager 


Coonamar is seeking a live-in lodge manager for season 2025.

  • Potential for couple to job-share the role
  • Private room accomodation for the manager / manager couple.
  • Friendly member based community, with some public guests and school group bookings

Coonamar Ski Club typically opens to guests in late June and runs until early September. The Manager is required for this duration, although a mid-season break can be negotiated in times of low demand, if requested.


The lodge has 8 guest rooms and sleeps up to 36 people.


Guests self-cater for lunch and dinner. The Lodge provides a continental breakfast for guests.


The Lodge Manager activities are summarised below.


Host duties

  • Welcome guest to the lodge
  • Allocate duties to guests and brief guests on the operations of the lodge.
  • Set up continental breakfast each evening and pack away after breakfast.


Cleaning and lodge maintenance

  • Be responsible for the presentation, cleanliness and tidiness of the lodge. Ensure cleaning duties allocated to guests are completed.
  • Check kitchen after each meal time to ensure guests are cleaning as required. Perform final dishwasher drain/shutdown process at end of each day.
  • Place and manage food orders for supply of lodge's continental breakfast, including ordering of lodge common supplies such as toilet paper, paper hand towels, hand wash and cleaning supplies.
  • Ensure that the linen service is maintained. This includes:
  • Changing and arranging for the laundering of bed linen after each guest
  • Placing clean linen on each bed prior to the guest’s arrival
  • Regular washing of tea towels, aprons, bath mats, etc.
  • Check bathrooms regularly to ensure adequate supply of toilet paper, paper hand-towels, handwash and cleaning equipment.
  • Clean bathrooms minimum of twice weekly.
  • Complete daily surface clean of common areas.


Bookkeeping and paperwork

  • Liaise with the Booking Officer to ensure the maximum use of the lodge and the regular ordering of provisions.
  • Liaise with the Treasurer on any financial matters including confirming all deliveries and invoices in a timely manner so payment can be made.
  • Be responsible for lodge’s security and safe operation including be responsible for handling any emergencies or building evacuations and ensure that a suitable level of decorum is maintained in the lodge.


End of season duties

  • Thoroughly clean the lodge including arrange laundering of linen, completing a stock take of remaining stores and correctly shut down the lodge as detailed in the training.
  • Provide a written Lodge Manager’s Report.
