Last days for bike trails

28 April 2022

There are mixed emotions as we reach the end of this incredible green season on the bike trails; sadness it's all wrapping up on Sunday, but high stoke for the season that was.

Massive thanks go out to everyone who has been a part of the resurrection of Mt Buller's stature in the mountainbike world this year.

  • The trail builders - for their talent, commitment and hard work transforming the network berm by berm.  The change is incredible and everyone who has had the pleasure of riding these 'new' trails couldn't be happier.  To the Mt Buller Mt Stirling team, Contour Works, Trailscapes and James Civil we say thank you.
  • The operators - for bouncing back after a super rough couple of summers we appreciate the passion and commitment of the crews at All Terrain Cycles and Blue Dirt for rolling shuttles, renting bikes, supporting with all the essentials from tyre tubes, spares, local advice and sausage rolls!
  • The riders - it's why we do it and it's been great to welcome back old friends and meet new ones this season. Thank you for coming and supporting mountainbiking in this beautiful place, we hope you come back in summer and bring your friends!
  • The event crews - who add the thrill of competition and special weekends over the summer.  The Mind Body Bike Festival, the DH series, the Alpenflow Epic and of course the Blue Dirt Blowout. These events take time, energy and passion to deliver and add so much sparkle to the season.

And thank you to the Victorian Government’s Regional Tourism Investment Fund - Stimulus Round for the funding that made reinvigorating the trails possible.

If you didn't make it up here this year make a plan to get on your bike in November and see what all the fuss is about. The bike trails close for the season on Sunday 1 May when preparations shift to winter snow season in the resorts.

When spring rolls around we'll keep you posted on season 22-23 openings  > just jump on this email list.
Sign up form is at the bottom of the bike report.
