Mt Buller
BIKING
Mt Buller is a beautiful place to ride and explore. It holds a place as one of Australia's special mountain biking destinations and is now even better following a major $1.3m refurbishment program in recent years upping the ride experience and putting Buller firmly back on bucket lists for bike riders across the land. The vast network has been refined to smooth your roll and if it's been a while since you hit the trails up here, you'll be stoked at the upgrade.
A quick bit of bragging
Mt Buller Bike Park is home to several firsts in Aussie mountain biking, including Australia’s first flow trail, Copperhead, and the Southern Hemisphere’s first IMBA Epic Trail, the infamous 46km descending cross-country trail, the Australian Alpine Epic.
When you are planning your bike adventures always remember you are in an alpine environment and conditions can change quickly, with sub-zero temperatures and even snow occurring in summer. Check the weather forecast and come suitably prepared - no bad weather, just bad gear choices!
Trails are graded according to their difficulty, in accordance with international standards. Choose a trail that matches your fitness, ability and equipment. Ride and enjoy within your limits. Let someone know where you are going, and when you plan to return.
The fine print - Mountain biking can be hazardous. Trails at Mt Buller may include unmarked obstacles and hazards such as sticks, rocks, logs, trees, steep inclines, drop-offs and loose surfaces.
Riders attempting these tracks do so at their own risk. Downhill trails at Mt Buller include extremely rough and rocky terrain. Suitable mountain bikes with adequate front and rear suspension are recommended.
Connect with bike and walk loving locals who know, live and love the trails. If you’d like help with bike rental, repairs, gear, guiding, clinics or shuttles there is someone on hand with the inside line.
