Get out of town

13 December 2019

It’s finally feeling like summer up here on the trails so why not skip the traffic, the shopping and the bustle in town and come on up?

Doctors are finally prescribing frazzled patients doses of fresh air, time in nature and the natural high that comes from chilling out on a mountain.  You might even be able to claim it on your insurance!

Here’s a little recipe we’ve been working on and we’d love you to give it a try;

  1. Take one regular sized weekend and prepare it by clearing your diary and packing the car.
  2. Marinate slowly while road tripping up to the podcast or tunes of your choice.
  3. Gently stir in some local ingredients (easily sourced from Mansfield region famous for good food, wine and beers)
  4. Place snugly in a mountain lodge, pausing to breathe deeply and listen to the currawongs and yellow-tailed black cockatoos for at least 45 minutes.
  5. Vary the recipe here to your preferred taste;
  • slowly blending in a few walks with a long read of the paper
  • pulling out the flower/bird guide and exploring
  • dusting off the bike and taking a flow ride through the snowgums and down to the Delatite
  • setting up the timelapse camera for amazing star trail photography
  • taking on the 40km challenge of the Australian Alpine Epic Trail

6.  Rest for about 20 minutes before serving.

7.  Take a photo for instagram (if that’s your thing)

 It’s super easy and you’ll feel great.
